My ambition to build a southern hemisphere base to counter the northern off-season is coming to fruition. Jon Sanders and I arrived to Fremantle Sailing Club and met David Dicks who organized our berth where he finished his nonstop solo circumnavigation with a bag of ‘Dark & Stormy’ Bundy rums, fifteen years after we locked horns as teenagers!
The first and perhaps the last time two youngest solo circumnavigators stood along-side the world distance record-holder- triple nonstop solo circumnavigator - Jon Sanders in the same geographic location!
So I’m turning around and flying back to Tasmania with Linda Pasquariello (above) to deliver a Farr 40 to Port Lincoln for a second east / west delivery out of Tasmania no sooner had I stepped off ‘Perie Banou 2'
